Talking HANDS: from a prototype to an effective and usable device

This proposal addresses the prototypal device Talking Hands, recently developed by the spin-off Limix of Unicam. The original idea was to create an assistive device able to translate pre-recorded hand gestures into speech in real time. This improved communication access was intended to positively affect the lives of the speech-impaired, easing their interaction at workplace, for healthcare services and in school environment.

Towards a sustainable Open Data ECOsystem

The central aim of the ODECO consortium network is to train the next generation of creative and innovative earlystage open data researchers, to unlock their creative and innovative potential to address current and future challenges in the creation of user driven, circular and inclusive open data ecosystems. Current developments in the field of open data are characterised as highly fragmented.

Nanomaterials for an environmentally friendly and sustainable handling of perishable products

Most part of fresh products in UE is produced in the Mediterranean countries. This project addresses a critical point in the agri-food chain: the storability and transportation conditions of climacteric products, where postharvest ripening occurs evolving gases, mainly ethylene (and others Volatile Organic Compounds VOCs) that work as natural ripening hormones leading to quality poor and losses by a faster and non-controlled aging.
